Katie Carlson-Akuno is a results-driven senior leader in gender equality with over 13 years of experience shaping and managing programs, policies and strategies across the African continent, in both humanitarian and development contexts. She has a proven track record in leading teams, strengthening systems and building strategic partnerships, with deep expertise in gender- and youth-focused initiatives across agriculture, climate, livelihoods and food systems. Katie is a recognized thought leader in gender transformative approaches and is passionate about driving inclusive, evidence-based solutions that empower women and girls while engaging men and boys to shift harmful norms and prevent violence, fostering sustainable social change and economic development.
